Company History
Foundation and Early Industry Focus
1891–1946
FÉG was originally founded as Fegyver- és Gépgyár Rt. (Weapon and Machinery Manufacturing LTD) in Budapest in 1891. The company specialized in producing arms and machinery for both domestic and international defense markets.
Expansion into Heating Equipment
1946–1990
Post-World War II, FÉG expanded its operations beyond defense, entering the heating equipment market. It began manufacturing gas heaters, water heaters, and related components. The FÉG brand earned widespread recognition across Central and Eastern Europe for its high-quality, long-lasting products.
Growth and Market Diversification
1990–2020
Following ownership and management changes, FÉG emerged as a leading heating device manufacturer in East-Central Europe. The company significantly expanded its presence in the HVAC and gas industries, discontinued defense-related activities, and ventured into renewable energy by developing components for heat pumps.
Innovation and Renewable Focus
2020–Present
In recent years, FÉG has invested in new production facilities and launched innovative product lines, including surface heating systems, steel radiators, and its proprietary range of heat pumps. Today, FÉG’s primary focus lies in renewable HVAC solutions.
